CHAINS AND FITTINGS FOR THE NAVY AND MARINE PURPOSES
With many years of experience in the field of chains and accessories, CICSA can boast of a tradition based on excellent product quality and accurate preliminary testing.
Materials used for CICSA chains and accessories include Carbon-Manganese steel, high-resistance NiCr or NiCrMo alloys (marine grade 2 and 3, for manoeuvring and lifting, ISO grade 4, 6, 8 etc.) with high resistance to wear and tear, shocks and high tenacity. Stainless steels (i.e. AISI 304L , AISI316) and special alloys (Monel, Incoloy) are used for non-magnetic chains for military applications (minesweepers) or for special chains with special corrosion resistance or abrasion resistance properties.
Heat treatments applied include normalising, austempering, quenching, surface and deep case hardening, special treatments. Finishing tratments include polishing, hot painting, tarring and galvanising.
CICSA products are accurately tested with high precision equipment; examinations, tests and analyses include chemical analyses, breaking tests, stretching, resilience, bending, magnetic permeability tests, macro and micrographic tests, ultrasonic and magnetoscopic tests.
CICSA holds a quality control system certified according to ISO 9000:2000 by the R.I.Na.(Italian Register of shipping) since 1990; CICSA manufacturing processes are approved by R.I.Na., Lloyd's Register of Shipping and American Bureau.
