ROUND STEEL CHAINS FOR ELEVATORS AND CONVEYORS
Special quality round steel chains and fi ttings for modular element bucket elevators, scrapers and conveyors, link type up to a diameter of 42 mm.
Manufactured with advanced technologies to ensure long operating life and minimum
maintenance time.
Used for bulk material transport and handling in cement factories, coal power plants, incinerators, mining industry, sugar factories, agriculture.
Excellent performances even in extremely severe operating conditions.
GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF CHAINS FOR ELEVATORS AND CONVEYORS
CICSA CLASS 2H, 3H, 3HS, 3HX, LH, S4
CICSA 2H, 3H, 3HS, 3HX, LH, S4 class chains are manufactured according to DIN 764, 766, 22252 or other standards.
The chain materials are specially designed by the steelworks and they are micro-alloys
with high Mn content for the 2H class and NiCr or NiCrMo alloys for the other classes.
All the chains are manufactured with overrefi ned heat treatments including high depth carburizing in order to obtain the best features; the superior CICSA welding processes are carried out with state-of-the-art technologies.
The results are the following:
•Very tough, fi ne grain core microstructures with a gradual change from the hardened exterior to the interior;
• Breaking forces equal or exceeding the 2 and 3 grade DIN 764-766 standards;
• High resistance to wear and tear;
• Total case hardening depth equivalent to minimum 0.1 d and up to 0.21 d (d=diameter);
• Effective hardening depth up to 30 tenth DC 1/550 ISO 2639 (Eht 550 HV1 according
to DIN 50190/1);
bull; Extremely high hardness, up to over 64 HRC (800 HV 30) on the surface;
• Excellent performances even in particularly diffi cult conditions, e.g. the transport of hot and/or extremely abrasive materials (clinker, slag or pozzolana, etc.), high speeds, large dynamic forces or great fatigue stresses.
CICSA also manufactures chains featuring a chemically very stable structure, useful to withstanding chemical agents as for the transport of damp and sulphur-containing coal.
Careful calibrating operations always enable to have all the CICSA 2H, 3H, 3HS, 3HX, S4, LH class chains classifi ed in the A standards category (calibrated chains). For the class LH a special calibrating process leads to the special, very reduced tolerances shown in the table; the chain coupling then reduces the tolerances in the couples to less than 0.05% on the length.
Special hardness profi les
CICSA products feature heat treatments with special hardness profi le and superior hardening depth with respect to other products on the market. (see specifi cally CICSA types 3H, 3HS, 3HX, LH-B, LH-C and LH-CS).
Higher hardening depth means a longer life for your equipment.
diameter (x d%). The points determining the effective hardening depth defined according to DC 1/550 ISO 2639 (equivalent to Eht 550 HV1 DIN 50190/1) are pointed out, in which the hardness is 51.5 HRC - 550 HV1.
The core hardness may vary according to different steel qualities.
• CICSA is specialized in accurate and overrefi ned heat treatments.
• CICSA uses advanced manufacturing plants and higly developed technology.
