Chains and fittings for bucket elevators with toothed wheels LH SYSTEM

Toothed wheel bucket elevators are used to build particularly tall, fast and high output machines with small footprint. This kind of
bucket elevators (modular element bucket elevators) make use of special long-pitch chains (see page 20, similar to DIN 22252
standard chains) and driving wheels with teeth (see page 22/23).Chain strands are several meters long and are joined together
by means of special couplings (GV and GN couplings, see page 25); buckets are fitted directly on the chain with pins passing
through the chain links and through sidewalls welded onto the buckets. An alternative is to fit buckets with the special attachments (ATS).

Production technology

All chains, teeth, connectors and pins are made of high quality alloy steel submitted
to special treatments to enhance their duration and resistance properties. The LH class
chains designed for these elevators are carburized and specially heat-treated to attain
different effective and total hardening depths depending on the use of the products.
The most frequent solution is the LH grade B type (LH-B), with surface hardness above
64 HRC (820 HV 30), min. effective and total hardening depth equal to 0.07 d and 0.11 d min respectively (d = diameter); the LHA type is used for machines with very high forces and fewer wear problems, whereas LH-C/CS type is used for machines subject to extreme wear. Custommade solutions are possible for solving special problems. Our accurated calibration system guarantees extremely high precision: the tolerance on the lenght in each pair is 0.05% at the most, where as the tolerance on the chain lengh ranges from –0.15% to +0.4%.
